Fr. Andrew Dickinson
Pastor
I am happy to be the pastor of our parishes in the St. Francis of Assisi Pastorate! I've been a priest since 2006, and have served in various ministries throughout the diocese including eleven years doing college campus ministry at a Newman Center.
My focus as your pastor is to help you encounter our Lord Jesus Christ through prayer, the Sacraments, and the teachings of His Church. I am confident that as you all grow in holiness, our parishes will blossom in the fruits of the Holy Spirit for us and for all.
Fr. Nick Haiar
Parochial Vicar
I grew up in Sioux Falls and attended Catholic school through high school. I attended USD for college where I received a bachelor's in Biology. I worked for three years before entering the St. Paul Seminary in Minnesota.
After six years at the seminary, I was ordained in 2022 with two other classmates. I have one younger sister who is married with three kids. I enjoy reading books that are historical, fantasy, or historical fiction. I enjoy exercising regularly and being in nature. I occasionally hunt in the fall and have fished in the past. My favorite saint is St. Peter the Apostle!
Fr. Russell Homic
Parochial Vicar
I first came to South Dakota in the spring of 2006. I came here by the way of a friend who wished to become a Carmelite Sister in Alexandria. As we were both from the Detroit area, she asked me to drive her here.
At that time, I had just signed up as a seminarian for the Detroit Diocese. The sisters invited me to investigate South Dakota as a possible alternative choice, which I did. I spent the summer with Fr David Stevens in Parker and Tea parishes. At the end of the summer, I transferred to Sioux Falls diocese and began my seminarian studies. I was ordained a priest in 2011.
My first assignment was at the Cathedral and then to St Michael in Sioux Falls. From there I was made Pastor of the churches in Ipswich, Roscoe and Leola, of which I have many happy memories.
